Thanks to Lesley Adams for the following review of The Dead Daisies' Adelaide gig at The Governor Hindmarsh and to Sue Hedley for the photos...
The first show to kick off the Australian Tour for The Dead Daisies was loud, hot and sweaty and the packed out crowd didn't mind it one little bid. From the opening number of Gonna Take Time the band well and truly rocked the Governor Hindmarsh in Adelaide.
With Jon Stevens on lead vocals and Richard Fortus playing lead guitar the band pumped out most of the songs from their new album, giving the crowd what they wanted in delivering their own brand of rock. For those of you have not seen Richard in action, I would have to say that he is one of the most expressive and mesmerising guitarists I have ever seen.
The new songwriting team of Jon Stevens and David Lowy have hit the mark for rock fans and with a couple of covers thrown in for good measure, they left the crowd wanting more.
