POWDERFINGER SET TO ROCK THE ARIA AWARDS ONE LAST TIME!
Sydney, Australia: Tuesday, 2 November, 2010: ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) is delighted to announce that POWDERFINGER, Australia’s biggest band, are set to rock the house at the 2010 ARIA Awards for the very last time next Sunday, 7 November at the Sydney Opera House.
In what will be their FINAL live performance on Australian television (broadcast on Network 10 from 8.30pm), the fab five will cap off a phenomenal year by treating Australian music fans and industry peers to one last hurrah. In what will surely be a show stopping moment, POWDERFINGER are set to deliver one last blast of the trademark sound that has made them a much loved part of the Australian music landscape.
POWDERFINGER have won no less than sixteen ARIA Awards in their distinguished career (including 3 consecutive ALBUM OF THE YEAR Awards) and that number could rise again with the band nominated for four ARIA Awards for the 2010 event. In their swansong year, POWDERFINGER have scored ARIA nominations for their final studio album – the Number 1 smash hit Golden Rule in the categories of BEST ROCK ALBUM and BEST GROUP. They are also nominated in two brand new public voted categories (presented by V Energy) of MOST POPULAR AUSTRALIAN ALBUM and MOST POPULAR AUSTRALIAN ARTIST.
Currently on their record breaking Sunsets Farewell Tour juggernaut that has taken them to all corners of our fair nation (including a mid air charity gig!), this tour has literally smashed domestic touring records. And there are still four shows to go including final SOLD OUT shows in Sydney on Saturday, 6 November (ACER Arena) and in Brisbane (10, 12 and 13 November) at Riverstage. And for those who want to treasure the memories, The Sunsets Farewell Tour DVD is released 3 December. The double disc DVD will feature a full live concert plus a documentary of the band on the road of their final tour and looking back at their achievements and extraordinary career.

All general public ticket holders are requested to wear white on the night with the best-dressed member of the audience receiving a special prize for their efforts.
Australian music fans have already embraced the ARIA Awards, voting in big numbers to determine the nominees in the four brand new publicly voted categories as presented by V Energy Drink.
But the voting is not over! Everyone gets a second chance to vote one last time in these four Public Voted ARIA Awards presented by V Energy up until 11:59pm on Saturday, 6 November. So make your vote count to get your favourite act over the line!
The winners of these four Public Voted ARIA Awards presented by V Energy Drink, as determined by Australian music fans, will be announced during the telecast for the 2010 ARIA Awards on Network Ten from 8.30pm on Sunday, 7 November.
