The Flying Saucer Club proudly welcomes back to its stage Peter Cupples as he launches his latest album Observations this October. Cupples began his career as the singer/songwriter for Motown band Stylus in the mid \u9170s.

Over the last decade, Peter has toured both solo and with Stylus, and with his close friend, the late Jon English. Their collaborative show, \u91ncorked\u92 filled with nostalgia and good humoured banter, delighted audiences everywhere throughout Australia.

His latest album, \u91bservations\u92 which he describes as \u91 collection of songs that look at the heart of our everyday existence, some personal, some not\u92is due for release in early November.

\u91 am extremely proud of this album,\u92says Cupples. \u91 truly believe it is probably the best thing I\u92ve ever done.\u92/p>

PETER CUPPLES is the former lead singer and songwriter of \u91TYLUS\u92\u96the Australian blue-eyed soul band who became the first \u91ll white band\u92to be signed by the US Motown label, Tamala.

Peter first came to prominence with Stylus in 1975, releasing four albums with hits such as \u91ummer Breeze\u92and \u91orld of Make Believe\u92before the band split in 1980.

A successful solo career followed throughout the ’80\u92, with a top 20 hit for his first release, \u91ear of Thunder\u92 and success with the song \u91lame it on the Weather\u92\u96not only for Peter but also for John Farnham, whose voice, incidentally, Peter\u92 soaring vocals are often compared to. He also became a regular on TV shows such as The Midday Show, Hey Hey It\u92 Saturday, Tonight Live, and Carols by Candlelight at the Myer Music Bowl.

Other albums released since include \u91till Alive\u92(with Stylus); \u91ac2basix\u92\u96a roots album filled with wonderful storytelling songs such as \u91ioneers\u92 \u91amily\u92and the \u91oor Man\u92 Al Jolson; a jazz standards album \u91bout Time\u92 and \u91ome Grown\u92\u96Peter\u92 own tribute to some of his favourite Aussie artists.
