Marc Hunter was, without a doubt, one of Australia’s most charismatic rock icons for over two decades as lead singer for the highly successful group “Dragon”, with memorable 70’s hits like “April Sun in Cuba”, “Are you old enough”, “Get that jive” and “Rain”, to name a few.
Subsequently, Marc also enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist, demonstrating in his own right another facet of his multi-faceted talent by delighting audiences with a refined mixture of musical genres that spanned from rock and pop to jazz and blues with his inimitable flair and assured eclecticism with such hits as “Island nights” and “Big City Talk”.
On the 17th July, 1998, Marc lost his battle with throat cancer at the tender age of 44, leaving an enormous void in the lives of so many: family, friends, those who knew him and those who didn’t, but who loved his music all the same.
So, to commemorate the passing of a dear friend, colleague and of one who inspired so many, we decided to honour Marc, his life and his music on the 15th Anniversary of this untimely loss of one of Australia’s brightest stars, by way of a very personal, heartfelt retrospective.
Please join us for a night of entertainment with some of Australia’s best talents, in this tribute celebration of the Marc Hunter Song Book.
