Fuse is pleased to announce an exciting special guest speaker to the music business conference, bestseller-marketing author Seth Godin, Management Masterclasses & a brand new Fuse Mobile App.
Described as a demigod on the Web, a best-selling author, highly sought-after lecturer, successful entrepreneur, respected pundit andhigh-profile blogger. He is uniquely respected for his understanding of theInternet. Seth Godin started out as a Software brand manager in the mid-1980s, Godin started Yoyodyne, one of the first Internet-based direct-marketing firms, Yahoo!, bought the company in 1998 and kept Godin on as a vice president of permission marketing. Godin has written more than 10 worldwide best sellers that have been translated into more than thirty languages. In 2005, Godin founded Squidoo.com, a Web site where users can share links and information about an idea or topic important to them.
This year, the Management Masterclass is back by popular demand as part of Fuse Festival 2012. The Masterclass give participants the opportunity to learn from some of the best managers in the business. This one-day master-class invites all artist managers and self-managed bands and anyone else interested in starting a career in the music industry as it offers insights into on how to run a band as a profitable business.
The Management Masterclass will be held on Wednesday February 22nd at the Carclew Youth Arts Centre offering all participants a chance to learn from the best digital media, experts managers & self managed musicians including: Corey Denis the queen of online marketing with 10 year experience behind her will talk you through forward thinking strategies foronline promoting for artists. Toolshed have devised marketing campaigns for artists as diverse as Kate Bush, Ani DiFranco, Martin Sexton, Peggy Sue, John Wesley Harding, Spoon, XTC, The Arcade Fire, Aimee Mann, Jeff Buckley, Sufjan Stevens.
Returning to her hometown ARIA nominated self managed artist Jen Cloher will be offering advice on the benefits of being a self managed independent artist. With twoself released albums and one EP under her belt, Jen will be giving you an insight in her recently developed series of workshops called ‘I Manage My Music’ specifically tailored to assist the self-managed artist.
Joining Corey and Jen is Vicki Gordon, one of the most highly regarded and respected women in the Australian music industry with a long list of career achievements including being integral to the success of Vanessa Amorosi & The Sick Puppies. The first woman voted onto the board of ARIA in which she is now aboard director, initiating NA2R (New Artists 2 Radio) to encourage more support for Australian artists on commercial radio & is the President of CICADA (Contemporary Independent Creative Artist Development Agency), a not for profit agency to help improve the profile of emerging Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Indigenous artists.

Fuse 2012 22nd – 24th February, Adelaide will come alive with the conference speakers, the masterclasses during the day with over 80 bands from interstate and locally showcasing in the evenings, held in over 20 venues across the east and the west of Adelaide.
