Steve Balbi , the former bass guitarist for Noiseworks and frontman of Electric Hippies, has lived a remarkable life.  His is the sort of story that sells books, and shifts movie tickets. It’s a tale of incredible highs and rare lows, a rock ‘n’ roll reality with all the trappings that come with being a familiar face from one of Australia’s biggest bands of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s; a tale of excess, reinvention, surviving, and thriving. All themes that are evident throughout his current single, I Found You, which was the first song Steve wrote clean in 20 years.

“Looking back it's a story of losing yourself to find yourself however, finding yourself is not a given in this process, I was one of the lucky ones to be found and for that I am grateful.”

I Found You has been lifted from Steve Balbi’s record, “Black Rainbow”, which was released independently through Social Family Records last year. This long awaited debut solo record is a sincere set of works which artfully reflects where he’s come from, and where he’s going.

“Adversity can be the greatest teacher, as long as you don’t give up. In a way what this record is doing, it’s summarising my past and bringing me right up until now, so I can move on in a forward direction. Black Rainbow has an overarching sense of optimism tinged with a hint of darkness, much like my journey in life so far,” said Balbi.

After supporting iconic Aussie rockers Baby Animals on their national capital city tour in 2013, Balbi has been invited to share the stage with them again on a string of new dates in 2014. Presented by Social Family Records, The Harbour Agency and MAX, “Feed The Birds Part II” will kick off in Merimbula and continue to Wollongong, Coffs Harbour, Laurieton, Albury, Batemans Bay, Dee Why and Belmont.  He will also be playing a headlining show at The Grace Darling Hotel in Collingwood on Saturday 22nd February.

Tickets are now on sale for all of Balbi’s upcoming shows via the links listed below.
