Powerhouse Songstress ROSE CARLEO joins acclaimed songwriter PAUL WOSEEN [THE SCREAMING JETS] Solo Album Tour as Special Guest

In a tour befitting her current rockin’ single, powerhouse songstress Rose Carleo is hitting the road with Paul Woseen from The Screaming Jets on his solo album dates throughout January. Joining Paul one of the country’s premier songwriters who is responsible for hits such as Helping Hand and October Grey as special guest on the tour is something a little bit special for Rose. She has been working alongside the Jets bassist on her own solo album, due for release in March, and he features on her latest single Time Is Now. Paul Woseen’s solo album, Bombido, was released in 2013 and this is his second tour to support the acclaimed acoustic release.

Delving into her rock roots has been an exciting adventure for Rose whose country-blues past is well- documented. Having always been drawn to the rockier side of the tracks, it’s only now that this versatile musician is finding her feet comfortably in her own style. “It’s something I’ve always had, I’ve always been the rock chick,” she says. “I have a really eclectic taste in music – from Emmylou Harris to AC/DC. The one thing that stands out for me in any genre of music is the groove and the lyrical content the story or message. As far as the rock genre itself, well I feel I’ve always naturally fallen into it I’m just more at ease now with conveying it.”

When it came to recording Time Is Now, Rose didn’t look much further than her musical comrade Paul Woseen. Sharing studio space with him and later appearing in the video clip for her single together just cemented this working relationship. “With my departure from country blues to a more blues rock feel, I knew that Paul was the bass player for this,” she says. “Paul’s musicianship and presence in the studio made for a great creative session. We developed a great rapport during this time along with a mutual respect for each other’s music styles. I guess he’s taken me under his wing in a way, and allows me to pick his brain about all sorts of things. He is a lot of fun to work with. His natural stage presence and vibe is infectious. We’re both confident performers with a mutual respect for each other’s abilities. When I see the lads rockin’ out, I feel comfortable that we’re all on the same page.”

Rose’s forthcoming solo album the title track of which is the first single Time Is Now has given her the opportunity to explore genres and is jam-packed with rock-country-blues gems. Transitioning between styles with ease, it’s an indication of just how talented Rose is as a musician that she has found herself at home belting out rock, sinking back into some ole’ time dirty blues and kicking out some stellar country. There’s not much that this songstress couldn’t sing and her new album is definitely one that shows she’s discovered a new side of herself… and is loving it!

Hitting the road as Paul’s special guest will give Rose a chance to share some new songs with audiences and she is excited to be giving music fans a sneak peek of what is to come. Her shows will be raw blues- rock, stripped back on acoustic guitar. “I will be performing my songs in their raw form as they were first written,” says Rose. “I sing the same whether it be with one acoustic guitar or with a full band… there is no holding back and it’s always from the heart. The songs will be performed in their most natural state raw, just voice and guitar nothing to hide behind, as such. I might also tell a story or two about how the song came about. This will be the first time that I’ve played some of the songs to an audience… I’m really looking forward to this approach, a little nervous but so excited all in the same breath!”

Rose is no stranger to touring, she spends a good part of each year on the road. As a full-time musician, she is gigging most weekends, transitioning from cosy pub shows to corporate performances. After many

years in the Australian music industry, she is adamant about the importance to taking her music on tour and sharing it with not only audiences in metropolitan centres, but also regional areas as well. This is something she says she is looking forward to the most with this run of tour dates. “I feel it’s imperative to tour both regional and metro areas,” she says. “Not everyone can get to city venues, where most acts tend to play first. I believe live music and telling stories is an important part of our culture. I think sharing with Australian audiences is a must if they love you, they’ll support you throughout your career… for life. You’ll definitely know where you stand with them, that’s for sure!”

Don’t miss this chance to get a sneak peek of Rose Carleo’s forthcoming album Time Is Now as she hits the road with Paul Woseen on his Bombido album tour this January.
