POWERHOUSE COUNTRY MUSICIAN JESS HOLLAND ANNOUNCES A SWAG OF SHOWS FOR THE 2016 TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL

NINE HUGE SHOWS PLANNED ACROSS THE FESTIVAL WEEK

With a swag of shows planned for the 2016 Tamworth Country Music Festival, country powerhouse Jess Holland is gearing up for another huge year ahead. Currently deep in the writing process for her third long player, Jess will not only be sharing some of her new material at her festival shows, but also her impressive back catalogue that has earned her a stellar reputation on the live circuit.

It is almost two years since Jess released her sophomore album Whole Lot To Say, firmly cementing herself as a musician to watch. Her captivating style of ‘ballsy country rock’, combined with killer vocals, has meant that the Mudgee-born artist has been consistently on the road throughout 2015, performing the width and breadth of Australia. After turning in a day job and dedicating herself to music full-time a few years ago, Jess Holland hasn’t looked back and has earned herself an impressive following to boot.

Wrapping up a hectic 2015 doesn’t mean Jess is about to sit back and rest on her laurels. She has an equally busy year ahead planned, kicking off with her nine shows at Tamworth during the festival. "It has been a big year for me," says Jess. "I haven’t been able to catch my breath! I released a third single – This Ol Guitar – from my recent album and, like previous years, have been touring extensively. I was lucky enough to be on the bill for the Mildura Country Music Festival, which proved to be a massive platform for me. I put a face to many artists I had previously only heard of and made some good mates at the same time. I am currently deep into the writing process for the new album. At this stage, I will hopefully be stepping into the studio late-2016."

Performing in Tamworth during festival time is always a highlight on Jess’ calendar and something she works towards every year. Her 2016 shows will see her joined by a number of special guests, and all promise to be unforgettable rockin’ country experiences. Jess will be performing across the entire span of the Tamworth Country Music Festival and is looking forward to immersing herself in the atmosphere.

"Each show will be different," she says. "I will also be testing the waters with new songs. I love to not only play to a new crowd, but also catch-up with my fan-base who have heard my music and continue to support me. It’s great to perform with mates you have not seen since last year’s festival."

Jess Holland smashed onto the scene with a ‘voice that could peel the paint of walls’ in 2011. As the Voice of Urban Country winner (from the Urban Country Music Festival), and a finalised in the 2011 Toyota Star Maker Competition, she made industry heavy-weights sit up and listen. Her debut release, Introducing… Jess Holland (2011), was a proudly independent album and showcased the singer’s diversity as a songwriter. Jess had been earning her musical stripes since she was a youngster. The granddaughter of a founding member of acclaimed bush band The Stringybark Band, she had always been surrounded by music, so stepping into the spotlight herself was something of a natural progression.

Since her debut release, Jess has not only been a finalist in the Toyota Star Maker Competition twice more, but has also been added to the bill of some of the country’s most popular festivals. Her second album release, Whole Lot To Say (2014), further demonstrated Jess’ nuance as a musician and that she was here to stay. The subsequent singles from the release – Fine Lines, Revolving Door and This Ol Guitar – achieved strong radio play and have already set the scene for her highly anticipated third album release.
