ONE ELECTRIC DAY Sells Out and Organisers Announce National Expansion in 2015!

The annual One Electric Day concert held at Werribee Park yesterday marked another sold out event for organisers. With an 8000 strong crowd attending the festival, music lovers were treated to an incredible day of Aussie rock featuring Hoodoo Gurus, James Reyne plays Australian Crawl, Mondo Rock, Diesel, Daryl Braithwaite and Boom Crash Opera. One Electric Day launched in 2013 and this now marks the second year that the concert has sold out.

Promoter Duane McDonald from Regional Touring (who also runs the successful Red Hot Summer Tour that travels down the east coast every summer) says that due to the incredible success of the event, the One Electric Day concept will be taken to a national level in November 2015 with shows planned in Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide.

"It is so pleasing to see the support people have thrown behind the One Electric Day brand," he says.  "To see so many people come out, leave their everyday worries behind and just immerse themselves in a trip down memory lane is fantastic."

The weather provided the perfect day out for concert-goers. Kicking off with a rockin' set by Boom Crash Opera, including all their hits such as Onion Skin, the crowd was at capacity from the first song. Daryl Braithwaite and band kept the momentum going with their set, that not only included a Sherbet classic, but also Daryl's number one hit and crowd favourite The Horses.

Diesel took to the stage proving why he is considered one of the country's most revered musicians. His set was followed by the iconic Mondo Rock who belted out all their hits including Come Said The Boy and many more. James Reyne took the audience through all the Australian Crawl hits, including some songs he hasn't performed live in many years. Wrapping up the day, the enigmatic Hoodoo Gurus rocked in the evening, the perfect close for a stunning day of rock.

Mondo Rock frontman and Daddy Cool himself, Ross Wilson, raved about the event. “Mondo Rock only reunite for the BIG shows and One Electric Day was the biggest,” he says. “[We’re] looking forward to more with the guys on the multi-state Red Hot Summer Tour.”

The 2015 line-up for the One Electric Day will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information, please visit www.oneelectricday.com.au
