After an incredible sell-out event in 2014, the highly anticipated ONE ELECTRIC DAY concert event returns with its biggest line-up yet, featuring Australian music industry royalty. This November the festival will be headlined by Aussie icon John Farnham, with very special guests Noiseworks, Daryl Braithwaite, The Black Sorrows (featuring Vika & Linda Bull) and Pseudo Echo take to the stage on the Great Lawn at Werribee Park for eight hours of jam-packed live entertainment.

The ONE ELECTRIC DAY project launched in 2013, selling out well in advance of the show date, and organisers expect the 2015 concert to be no different. “ONE ELECTRIC DAY has been warmly embraced by music fans,” says promoter Duane McDonald from Regional Touring. “It is a fantastic family event that brings together some of the best artists on the music scene today. The event is a chance for music lovers to experience an incredible festival line-up on Melbourne’s doorstep.”

There is no doubt about it, John Farnham is the voice of the Australian music industry. Revered as one of the best male vocalists – by both fans and fellow musicians – he has had an incredibly versatile career. He took the hearts of the nation with his debut release Sadie the Cleaning Lady as Johnny Farnham in 1967. Fast forward to the 1980s and John Farnham become one of Australia’s favourite sons with an incredible string of smash hit albums. His return to the industry – the 1986 album Whispering Jack – was the first record to sell over a million copies in Australia and it’s chart topping single You’re The Voice cemented the honey toned solo artist as the ‘voice’ of the country. Over the next several years he released hit after hit, including Pressure Down, Reasons, A Touch of Paradise, Age of Reason, Two Strong Hearts, Angels, Talk of The Town, Chain Reaction, Burn For You, Have A Little Faith (In Us) and That’s Freedom to name a few, including some incredible covers which he made his own, such as When The War Is Over and One. Since the 1980s, he has been selling out stadiums, always incredibly in demand for his live shows. Headlining ONE ELECTRIC DAY, John Farnham will be showcasing a repertoire than spans almost five decades and that promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Noiseworks are Australian rock legends and need no introduction to lovers of live music. They are adored by music fans and critics alike, and have a back catalogue jam-packed full of hits. The multi-ARIA nominated band features some of the best musicians in the country, and even after a hiatus of more than a decade, the band returned to the stage as if they never left. It was the year 1986 that saw Noiseworks turn heads with their debut single No Lies. What followed was a swag of incredible songs, such as Take Me Back, Love Somebody, Touch, Freedom, Miles and Miles and In My Youth to name a few. The band sold in excess of 1.2 million albums with 15 hit singles before calling a break in the early 1990s. They are rocking harder than ever and their upcoming performance at ONE ELECTRIC DAY is guaranteed to blow the speakers!

When it comes to recognisable voices in the Australian music scene, there are few as impressive as that of Daryl Braithwaite. After winning over audiences at last year’s ONE ELECTRIC DAY, Daryl’s inclusion on the 2015 bill promises a fantastic showcase. In a diverse career that has spanned decades, Daryl’s consistency as a performer has never wavered, something that sees him performing regularly to packed crowds around the country. Starting his career in the 1970s as the frontman for Sherbet, Daryl was crowned King of Pop and the band produced 20 national Top 40 singles. Songs like Howzat and Summer Love became ingrained in the national psyche. In the 1980’s Daryl set out on his own solo career, kicking off with the smash hit album Edge featuring singles such as One Summer and As The Days Go By. His follow-up album Rise spawned the single The Horses, a song which never fails to get massive audience participation. Daryl released an EP of new material Forever The Tourist through his former long-time record company Sony in 2013.

Another icon of Australian music, Joe Camilleri, will be bringing his legendary band The Black Sorrows to the 2015 line-up. An incredible songwriter, Joe penned some unforgettable hits with The Black Sorrows, from tracks like Harley & Rose, Dear Children, The Chosen Ones, Never Let Me Go and Chained to the Wheel to Hold On To Me and New Craze. Any live show is guaranteed to get audeinces on their feet dancing. After the success of his first band Jo Jo Zep and The Falcons, Joe pulled together a group of musicians and launced The Black Sorrows. Since then, the band have sold more than a million albums worldwide, toured Europe (to sell-out shows) and won an ARIA for Best Band.

For the ONE ELECTRIC DAY concert The Black Sorrows will also feature the stunning vocals of Vika and Linda Bull. Vika and Linda are well-known for their gorgeous voices and stunning vocal harmonies. From performing with The Black Sorrows in the 1980s, to their own diverse solo and duo paths in soul, gospel, blues and country, the sisters have released eight albums and performed with countless fellow musicians. Their time performing with The Black Sorrows saw three triple-platinum albums Hold Onto Me, Harley and Rose and Better Times featuring the sisters’ vocals.

Pseudo Echo are bringing all the fabulousness of the 1980s to ONE ELECTRIC DAY. The band are well revered for their chart topping run which featured classic hits such as Funky Town, Don’t Go, Living In A Dream, Listening and A Beat For You. The band sold in excess of one million albums worldwide and spurned a #1 single on the US Billboard Dance Charts. They celebrated seven Top 10 singles in Australia, and top charting singles in the UK, Canada, Sweden and Finland. Pseudo Echo’s music was considered the unofficial anthem of the 1980s and their big hair and big hooks took them into the record books. The band’s electro-pop sound still gets audiences on their feet and their music is quickly being embraced by a whole new generation of fans. They recently released a crowd- funded album, their first in 15-years, and are back on the road bringing the party with them.

With both the previous ONE ELECTRIC DAY events selling out fast, music lovers are encouraged not to delay in getting their tickets to the stellar 2015 line-up. Once again, ONE ELECTRIC DAY is destined to be one of the highlights on the Victorian music calendar this summer.

General public tickets go on sale 9am on Monday 22nd June 2015 through Ticketmaster.
