CMC ROCKS THE HUNTER: More artists added as tickets sell fast!

After only one week on sale, festival organisers have been blown away by how fast tickets are selling for CMC Rocks the Hunter 2012. Tickets are being snapped up in record numbers compared to any previous years and available festival camping sites are also disappearing quickly!

The unprecedented response to ticket sales can be attributed to the growing loyal fan-base for the festival and the stellar line-up, with US megastars, TIM MCGRAW and FAITH HILL (USA), headlining in their first Aussie show together. DIERKS BENTLEY (USA) and LEE KERNAGHAN are also featured in the lineup.

Now, Rob Potts Entertainment Edge, Chugg Entertainment and XYZ Networks have announced eight more great performers who will be rocking the *Hope Estate over March 16 - 18 next year.

JAMES BLUNDELL helped redefine country music in Australia when he rose to stardom in the late 1980s, with a string of self-penned hits driven by an earthy, contemporary sound. Now, nine Golden Guitar awards and many gold and platinum albums later, James is continuing to write and record his own brand of country music with his new album, Woolshed Creek. This will be James’ debut at CMC Rocks the Hunter in 2012.

STEVE FORDE is the on-air face of CMC and a festival favourite, having performed at four of the previous CMC Rocks events, His hard driving, electric band, showcases the dynamism and on- stage energy that he used to build his nation-wide audience with more than a decade of hits - which are featured on the new Steve Forde: Greatest Hits collection, released this week.

Rolling Stone described JEDD HUGHES (USA) as an “Aussie guitar-slinger who can shred nasty and croon pretty”. Now living in Nashville, this accomplished singer/songwriter/musician has gone from performing with Patty Loveless and Keith Urban, to releasing his own acclaimed album, Transcontinental. Following the rapturous reception to his performance as part of Buxton Hughes this year, Jedd is ready to blow away another CMC Rocks The Hunter crowd with his unique brand of songs and talent.

FELICITY URQUHART was one of the leading young stars of 90s Aussie country, a singer-songwriter whose chart success and multiple award wins have pushed her to create more compelling work with each album. In addition to her music, Felicity’s charismatic presence has lead to a regular presenting role on Channel 7’s Sydney Weekender show and hosting ABC-Radio’s weekly National Saturday Night Country program.

Despite growing up in Japan, PETE DENAHY is a quintessentially Australian performer, whose laconic sense of humour and wild fiddle playing have made him a popular regular on the festival circuit. His single, Sort of Dunno Nothin’, was a viral sensation, racking up over half a million hits on YouTube and being played on National television.

BUDDY GOODE is quite simply a global country music legend. The voice of multiple generations and an inspiration to artists as varied as Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus, Buddy has made his home in Oz for the past few years and just released a new collection of his classic hits, including Dickens Cider and the touching Unforgiving Wind. Buddy is looking forward to bringing his iconic presence to the *Hope Estate in March.

JETTY ROAD is one of Australia’s hottest country groups. With twin female vocalists up front, this Golden-Guitar winning Group of the Year, is an energetic quartet, with four albums, and performances in the US, Canada and Europe, as well as Australia. Their latest album. Far Away Places, features collaborations with Canadian recording artists, George Canyon and Jason McCoy.

JAYNE DENHAM, brings a pub-rock edge to her live performances, honing her stage craft in country towns around Oz as she sings songs about Australia, its people, the land, the wheels of industry and those that keep them turning. Two albums into her career, Jayne has racked up a series of hit videos on CMC and a reputation as a country artist who knows how to rock!

In a first for 2012, the promoters have announced the inclusion of a main stage program on Friday 16 March from 4pm to 11pm. The festival will continue through Saturday and Sunday, when TIM McGRAW and FAITH HILL (USA) will close the proceedings.

Festival organisers are also thrilled to announce that GAC television personality STORME WARREN (USA) will be returning to host proceedings at the *Hope Estate. he will also be filming a special on the festival for his weekly show, Headline Country, which airs locally on CMC and is beamed into millions of households across America.

Storme will be joined by co-hosts and brothers, DARREN CARR and MIKE CARR. Darren is the Mo Awards’ multi-award winning “Entertainer of the Year” and Mike is one of Australia’s most respected and prolific singer/songwriters in country music today. Together, they’re trouble.

Once again, camping will be available on site at *Hope Estate. Festival organisers have responded to audience feedback by expanding the number of sites, increasing amenities and discarding the requirement for a camper’s bond. However, get in early as campsites, like tickets, are selling very fast! The Camper’s Bar will be back in action again on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, following the conclusion of the main stage program.

Tickets are on sale now, with limited one-day tickets available, as well as the weekend passes. Despite the addition of an extra seven hours of Friday night main-stage programming, the promoters are pleased to be able to keep ticket prices at the same level as in 2011.

Artists now announced for CMC Rocks the Hunter 2012 include - TIM McGRAW and FAITH HILL (USA), Dierks Bentley (USA), Lee Kernaghan, Eli Young Band (USA), Tex Perkins and The Dark Horses, James Blundell, Craig Campbell (USA), Jim Lauderdale (USA), Colt Ford (USA), Steve Forde, Shane Nicholson, Jedd Hughes (USA), Felicity Urquhart, Pete Denahy, Buddy Goode, Jetty Road and Jayne Denham. Many more artists are still to be announced..
