BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND wow audiences at AAMI Park

More than 65,000 concert goers became a part of music history on Saturday and Sunday night as Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band put on two epic concerts at Melbourne’s AAMI Park.

The Saturday night concert included a surprise appearance from Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, who joined Bruce for a cover of AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell’ and Springsteen classic ‘Darkness On The Edge Of Town’.

Bruce Springsteen's long time manager and confidant Jon Landau said:  "Bruce and the E Street Band loved the return to Melbourne, where they first appeared nearly 30 years ago. They loved AAMI Park. They loved the atmosphere.  And most of all, they loved the audience.  We all can't wait for the next time."

Frontier Touring’s Michael Gudinski said:  “I’m unbelievably proud that Frontier was able to bring Bruce & the E Street Band back to Melbourne in less than 12 months.  The epic shows they performed across both nights at AAMI Park are testament to their amazing talent and the true connection they have with fans.  The Melbourne fans were fantastic, the venue first class and the music incomparable.  This combined with the reformation of the mighty Hunters & Collectors will ensure these shows go down in history.  Yet again Melbourne has proven why it is Australia’s rock capital.”

The Herald Sun said “Springsteen is in a league of his own and it is heartening to see how many kids are at these shows witnessing how it’s done properly.”

The Age concurred, awarding the gig 5 out of 5 stars ‘the E Street Band have raised the bar well beyond anything this town has seen, or is likely to see any time soon’.

In a Melbourne exclusive fans were also treated to an amazing set each night by Aussie legends Hunters & Collectors.  Reformed for one last ever tour, the band showed their prowess has been undiminished by the years.

Relative newcomer and future star in the making Dan Sultan opened the shows with style and panache and is set to do the same again at Hunter Valley this weekend, with Aussie lads The Rubens.

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band perform to a sold out crowd in Sydney on Wednesday night and then head to the Hunter Valley for two nights.  Limited tickets are available for the Sunday night concert.  From there it’s off to Brisbane for a sold out show and then across the ditch to Auckland for two massive nights at Mt Smart Stadium.
